File This One Under “All the Feels”

Usually it's the chocolate in Hershey that melts. This year it's our hearts.

It's an annual tradition for Hershey Bears (the farm team of the Washington Capitals) and their fans. And it's a good one. During a particular holiday season game, fans shower the ice with teddy bears to be donated when the Bears score their first goal. This is what happened this year:

This year, they happened to have set a giving record in Hershey, PA. Fans broke the previous record of 28,815 bears thrown by 19,289 fans of the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen in 2015. Hershey's previous high was 25,017, which was set last year. This year, 10,046 fans threw 34,798 bears onto the ice to be donated to charity. This is part of a growing trend of more and more stuffed animals are being thrown at venues during the season of giving.

Well done, fans. You just made a lot of little kids who don't have toys this Christmas very, very happy. And you melted all our hearts. ❤️❤️❤️
